You're allowed to quit things. If a TV show isn't entertaining, a video game isn't fun, a book isn't grabbing you...just quit. Go do something else. Life's too short to trudge through something just to finish it or doing leisure activities out of some false sense of obligation.

about 90% of culture war grievances is literally just people with nothing happening in their lives getting mad that other people are not as unhappy as they are
the pronoun thing is so incredibly stupid at so many levels, imagine knowing that you live a life so devoid of anything interesting that you have time to sit around steaming at what someone else put in their bio, like why would you ever confess this in public
If I were an editor at a prestigious national publication I would simply ask writers to define what they mean by words like "forced"

anyway I do think it's valuable to remind ourselves what we have that these guys do not, which they see and VIOLENTLY resent
they have no love in their lives, they can't make a joke that lands, the artists they admire hate them, without power & wealth they are nothing
