Exactly this. Even at the time, the BLM folks were talking about how this isn't just an issue for black people, that cops abused their power and targeted white folks too, but people sided with the cops anyways and welp, now they're literally executing people in the streets.
At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

That pole deserves a medal for withstanding the pain of an ICE agent crashing into you.
Thoughts and prayers for the pole.

The fact in of itself that Variety STILL has Tatiana Siegel around as an executive editor makes them DEEPLY unreliable as a news source.

But yeah, I remember how they trashed this, yet hyped up A Moroncrap Movie (despite it failing to break a billion for adapting the best selling video game ever)
Remember when variety downplayed Sinners' opening weekend box office, implying it might not make back its money? It has made $370 million since, and now has garnered more Oscar nominations than any movie, ever

Take notes, modern Hollywood and screenwriters!

We’ve got ourselves a classic to look up to for the rest of the decade and onwards!

I thought Lazenby did very well in making Bond his own (except for the mildly annoying sections where he’s dubbed) as opposed to being a carbon copy of Connery.

But yes, from story to action to the FREAKING SOUNDTRACK, that film rules.

Was it also back before the age of fanboy stupidity (which started, I believe, around the Plinkett Reviews era of Prequel and ROTJ hate?) really kicked in for the SW fandom?

If so, THAT’S very, very old.

Confession: I was a Star Wars fanboy before they were any Star Wars fan boys...

Which also means I am very old. 😳

No, we only want problems involving the fates of fascists unwilling to change to be solved with violence.

Such as with Batman in Begins refusing to save Ra’s once realizing his prior save of him ultimately meant nothing but more destruction for Gotham.
to be ‘solved‘ with violence, believing might makes right, and thinking children should be trained/expected to murder their perceived enemies with ZERO hesitation is actually way, way, way, WAAAAAAY closer to how Trump and other Nazis view the world anyways you dumb fucking fascist jackass.

Interesting you use Nolans Batman, considering the criticism he got for "not getting Batman" for leaving Ra's to die by the smelly comic fan brigade

Also don't see how "mercy can be menacing" when all the villains he shows mercy to keep coming back to blow up more hospitals and schools than the IDF
Seems folks also miss that the "mercy" usually comes after a lot of violence. It's the end of the fight, not avoiding the fight.

And even mercy can be menacing.

Back To The Future (rewatch)

I got nostalgic ok. It's still just a perfect movie in every aspect. Every actor, especially Crispin Glover, just delivering their all. The ending is still a hilariously 80s Reagan era message of wealth = success but hey what the hell it's simple

Maybe it's just because I'm me but it's so funny how every stupid Harry Potter mobile ad seems to be about the queer characters in the game. babe there's a reason the lgbt demographic has zero interest in the franchise and it's not something that's going to be fixed by just marketing to them.

Ah yes, the sexual predator who directed a Superman film that had him as a deadbeat dad with depressing sepia colors you THINK would be the main punching bag of that franchise...
Found KINO LORBER's 4K of THE USUAL SUSPECTS (1995) today.

I've seen bits of this film, but never watched it all the way through, though I am well aware of it's reputation.

Unfortunately, much like CHINATOWN it's another film tainted by heinous revelations about the people that made it. -__-
