Update on the #Everglades: Closing arguments ended yesterday in the preliminary injunction phase of our case challenging the Everglades detention center "Alligator Alcatraz."

The judge indicated she will issue a decision before Aug. 21.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.
