Well, blerg. Rolled up in the Amazon layoffs are everyone who works at my local Amazon Fresh, which okay, sure I never saw more than 2 other shoppers in there, but that was what I liked about it! Plus a convenient place to pick up packages. Now I have to drive 20 minutes to Whole Foods for pick ups.

The retirement facility where I walk a dog is playing Groundhog’s Day for both a matinee and the evening movie, and they don’t always have matinees. This place rules.

I decided to watch A Knight's Tale again tonight because I'm depressed and it's a perfect movie, and I just got to Ulrich and Adhemar's first bout at Rouen, and after their second tilt, when Adhemar looks up at his unbroken lance in confusion and outrage, what a perfect shot. Just incredible work.

Wind chill is down to 5F here in New Jersey today, so no dogs are staying out longer than 15 minutes, because then I have to stay out longer than 15 minutes. And neither of us want that.

I started watching Starfleet Academy, and as of episode 2, it is very good. But I am OUTRAGED that the Cerritos is missing from the procession of starships in the paramount Star Trek 60th Anniversary opening sequence.

In the background of several shots are three large safety-orange snow melters. You see, there is no room on the streets of NYC for a pile of snow to just wait to melt. So after the plows make big piles, front end loaders scoop snow into these, where it’s melted by spinning blades and flamethrowers.
We're getting a snowstorm tomorrow. But New York City is prepared.

lol, I always just assumed any cop has an instant backdoor to any ring camera they want on a whim at the computer in their car, their phone or their kid’s iPad with no input from a judge or even a formal request to ring, and now they’re making sure we all know it’s like that, cool cool cool.

It’s actually so cold today (0F right now with wind chill) that I just moved a walk to tomorrow when it’s supposed to be 20F so the poor dog won’t freeze
