There is a direct path from the Kremlin to the far right in Europe. These parties have not Europe's interest at heart and are actively undermining our democracies. They need to be outlawed and prevented to enter the political framework.

Long 🧵 which gives an excellent overview of the 🇫🇮 Finnish preparedness system, posted in March 2022 by @jmkorhonen.fi.
Many people have wondered how the Finns defend Finland today, so here's a very short introduction to modern Finnish defence policy - and a brief synopsis of how the Finnish military would probably fight if any hostile country decided to invade. 1/

AIS-spoof-station WHISKEY 365 in Finland is offline.

It operated with a noteworthy 100% uptime for over a year. Oct 30 it started publishing anomalous data and caused a mass spoof event Nov 2.

Now offline since a few hours.

Guess: they were raided by FI authorities.

IMO, if done similar to the Brazilian deal then Ukraine could be tasked to supply certain Gripen aerostructures for the global market. Larger volume.

Norwegian DM Sandvik confirms there are talks to increase the financing of the defence plan. Costs have increased while the world situation has not improved. Other measures like increased cooperation with allies are also being discussed. www.vg.no/nyheter/i/Gy...

Opprustningen av Forsvaret er blitt langt dyrere, og sprenger rammene i planen som Stortinget vedtok i fjor. Løsningen kan bli nye spleiselag med andre Nato-land.

Not all that closely related to Nordic security and defence, but I enjoyed author Charles Stross' take on the state of things: www.antipope.org/charlie/blog...
The pivot - Charlie's Diary
I'm calling this the pivotal year of our times, just as 1968 was the pivotal year of the post-1945 system, for a number of reasons.

Norway finds out that its electric busses - produced by a Chinese firm - can be remotely controlled from China!

The good news of this is that the Norwegians realised this because they did a cybersecurity test. We need to think about, and test, stuff like this more.
