Vintage Friday: HSwMS Sjöormen under way. She was commissioned on July 31, 1968 and decommissioned in 1997, then transferred to Singapore, where she was modernized, renamed RSS Centurion and saw service 2004-2015. Originally 11 were planned in the class, but the number was cut to 5 due to costs.

Baltic Fleet is getting a new missile carrier.

This takes total (naval) surface Kalibr cruise missile capacity to 40 barrels. Not counting submarine, land and air assets.

40 is more than totals fired during the largest attacks on Ukraine or the capacity in Black Sea in 2022*

And we've practiced this. A LOT.

As noted, there is a very limited number of feasible avenues of attack to Finland.

We know them.

And have planned, *for decades,* how to turn them to killzones.

We even have kit like this "mine drill". Works on asphalt too.

There's no Nordic customers for these yet, AFAIK, however Kongsberg recently purchased the US manufacturer Zone 5. Will be interesting to see. A mix of high/medium/low effectors might be the way to go, with long-range drones being the "low" category.
