I'll come at this from a different angle and say that it doesn't have to actually hold up as a complete experience today for people to still be talking about why they loved it. And my guy here would do well to listen to people talk about the *specific things* they think Morrowind did better.

A few years ago I had an offer for my AI vision company for a life changing sum of money. It would have been sold to the Israeli, and while it wasn't clearly stated (it never is), it was clear they were looking for military uses.
I made many mistake building this company, saying no wasn't one.

if you don't know of him, joseph redmon is the creator of YOLO, the first one-shot object detection network. he was one of the biggest rising stars in ML and probably could have gotten any job he wanted. instead he quit CV entirely because he saw this coming

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.
