Right outcome.

I voted against the ban on Palestine Action because it was authoritarian, and weakened our democratic rights.

A Labour government should be building firewalls against authoritarianism - not building bridges for it.

Political betting markets are having almost as crazy a week as the politicians are. Reform have been favourite to get most seats in the next GE for a very long time and have been roughly 50% for weeks now. A few minutes ago they dipped to 33% and Labour went favourites at 35%!

It helps to look convincingly happy about the things you're doing. It helps sell the sense that you're doing something because it aligns with your values. This government's default mode is to do something while handwringing that they had no other choice because someone else made them do it.
Labour has positioned itself so it gets no credit from either the left or the right for doing things they support

I think a lot of politicians & commentators see all this very differently from most of the country. They see it as part of an ongoing story about decision-making, personalities, probity, money etc. For everyone else it’s part of a long series of events: Saville, Huw Edwards, Rotherham & more (1/)

The High Court has ruled banning Palestine Action unlawfully infringes on the freedoms of speech and assembly.

The Govt must drop its shameful plans to appeal.

There must be an independent inquiry into how this deeply flawed, authoritarian decision was taken in the first place.

I will say Universal Basic Services is my preference because it's much more secure from e.g. landlords etc stealing all of the UBI a person receives by raising rents etc.

If healthcare. public transport, housing etc are provided free it'll be very popular, hard to revert and very beneficial.
If there's any kind of UK UBI it'll be the same as when Osborne brought in the "Real Living Wage" which was in fact less than the actual real living wage and rendered it meaningless.

It's certain it'll be means tested but it'd probably have other conditions too.
