1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

Gavin Newsom Vetoes Important HRT Stockpiling Bill For Trans Californians, Signs Other Pro-LGBTQ+ Bills
The bill would have allowed transgender people to maintain a safe supply of medication in the era of government crackdowns on care.

It's often the people who oppose educating children about abuse that are the abusers. The overlap between parents opposing school-based sex Ed and those actively abusing their children is substantial.
One of the nastiest things from these nasty pieces of work has been the lie that kidlit creatives, teachers & librarians are somehow grooming kids.

Statistically, a parent, guardian, or other relative is more likely to be the perpetrator: www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/media-room/n...

Once again the Nobel Peace Prize is driven more by politics than peace.

Caving in to a far right militaristic politician supporting violent intervention against her own people, opposing self-determination of Palestinians, supporting the far right agenda of Donald Trump and US imperialism.

It was 100% obvious in 2024 what the election in the US was about. Trump released and endorsed his playbook. It's possibly the most honest election of my lifetime. And the US chose to vote for him and elect him.

This is the most uplifting thing I've seen politically coming out of the US in months. The fact a mainstream Democrat with national attention would devote a whole ad to trans history is a BIG deal, especially after Harris/ Walz chose to throw us under the bus in 2024.
I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

I am no longer with the US Federal Government. I left by choice, but a number of my colleagues were RIF'd and many others were forcibly reassigned. Many of them are currently furloughed with uncertainty about whether they will get RIFed, get back pay, etc.

I have successfully made it out of the United States to a safe country with my family. I have term employment and we are getting by.

I am grateful for all the support from here and the local Trans community, especially with regards to ways out of the US

I'm hearing lots of rumors at work but I'm having trouble tracking down truth.

I hate that we learn more from media than we do from our internal sources or our management.

They're as much in the dark as we are.

Friends,

I'm seeing lots of new followers.

I am a career employee of the US Federal Government but not in the DC area and I learn more about what is happening from the media / social media than I get internally.

I am not myself trans but my child is and we don't feel safe in the US anymore.

Today on LinkedIn:

- someone trying to get me to train AI in my specialty (a "high priority" position)

- someone from a country typically considered adversarial to the USA trying to recruit me

I'm clearly not desperate enough yet (and still stand by my values and oaths) but I may eventually break

I just want to keep doing science to improve people's lives and make the world a better place.

I have enjoyed my career as a Federal Scientist. I especially enjoy seeing the positive impact our work has on the lives of our fellow Americans from across the political spectrum.

We knew Trump / Zeldin intended to shut down EPA's ORD, but we weren't sure how bad the damage would be.

Still hopeful that critical work will be continued in other offices, but the cuts are looking to be brutal.

So many resources being wasted, so much knowledge and experience lost.

Yesterday was a bad day for me.

Heard back bad news about a few promising positions I had applied for.

Got sold out by both political parties in my country.

And I felt like shit all day.

But we're moving on and going forward.

I want to live in a world where all my neighbors (and politicians) aren't so fucking obsessed with my child's genetalia or how they urinate. Like it shouldn't be that difficult to just let us live our lives. It's honestly really creepy and stalkerish how obsessed people are with our genitals.

What a disgusting thing for President Bone Spurs to do to veterans who have served their country honorably.

Gender affirming care is healthcare. Healthcare is a human right. It’s time to fight for that right.

This narcissistic man baby needs a long time out, in a room with bars.
Friday Night Massacre tradition continues!

For all the talk about the importance of the Federal workforce, 10 Democrats chose to sell us out to Elon Musk without even a token resistance.

I will not forget this betrayal, and neither will my colleagues.

Virtually everyone I work with, both in my agency and in other agencies, think Dems should vote against the CR and try to negotiate something better for us.

Losing a paycheck sucks. Losing your job sucks more. And losing democracy in your home country is even worse.

Grow a spine Schumer.
March 14, 2025 at 1:55 PM
Every Democrat (and Republican) voting for this CR is an enemy of the Federal Government and all of the people who work for (or worked for) the government.

Schumer and his allies care more about their own wallets than they do about defending Feds or defending Democracy.
"I don’t get paid if there’s a shutdown but shutting the government down and putting up a fight is preferable to giving in."

"Every single one of my colleagues supports a shutdow."

"Everyone I know in my office was hoping the Dems would grow a spine and shut the government down."

I will say my local trans / family / ally groups have been very active and have been providing support, resources, information and seminars, info about doctors / healthcare, advice about leaving the US, etc.

Many of us aren't willing to leave the US yet, but most of us are researching and planning.
March 14, 2025 at 1:34 PM
My current goals are

- save money

- get my family the fuck out of the USA

- do my best to support other trans people and families in my community to find safety

I get Dem fundraising emails all the time. At this point I'm done donating to them. If they abandon us we need to fight for ourselves.
March 14, 2025 at 1:32 PM
I just want to say that there are Democrats, many on the local level and many in deep red states, that stand up and fight for us every day. They stand up against state-level tyranny and oppression and often lose, but keep fighting.

National level Democrats (and Dem leadership) needs to do more.
My two cents: we don’t abandon the Democratic Party. We remake it. It’s a good party. It just has bad leadership.
