Anyone in the Los angeles area hear a loud boom a few minutes ago? It shook the house I'm renting (Hollywood Hills area) and scared the crap out of my dog. Frankly, me too. It was very low frequency rumble so didn't sound particularly close. #losangeles

I really don't get how people think "strongman" antics indicate actual strength. Everything Trump does reeks of insecurity, weakness, and a bottomless need for reassurance and validation.

I support getting Musk out as the unity demand.
But as a person in one of groups targeted by the executive orders, it would be helpful for those who are not to avoid treating what's happening to targeted groups as a small issue or side distraction from the DOGE stuff.

But if your goal was to weaken Los Angeles in its ability to resist you and to be a sanctuary city, wiping out lumber imports just as we need to rebuild 10,000 homes would be a GREAT way to do it.
If you wanted to decrease the cost of homes, one thing you wouldn’t do is put a flat tariff on your main source of timber.
