Two things can be true: 1.) The Game Awards are meaningless and we shouldn't take them all that seriously. 2.) Award shows of its scale DO rewrite the mainstream history of the art form, whether they deserve to or not, and its okay to care that it's so thoughtless despite having that responsibility.

Biggest VGA snub is definitely Sonic 3 (movie) not getting part of best adaptation when Until Dawn and DMC Netflix got on there. Brazen disrespected to Sonic on that one. That and Trails in the Sky got nothing despite its metacritic being basically up there with other noms for other categories.

If nothing else, Sonic Racing Crossworld getting 2 nominations over Mario Kart's just 1 shows at least something on the quality scale between the two in some regard.

"No one is angry about games not containing gen AI" is such a hell of a good point. It is incredibly off-putting to many customers, an absolute deal-breaker, yet there is no flip side to that, no consumer base clamouring for it, no demand. They can only try to wear people down into accepting it.
I saw this and had two thoughts,
No one is angry about games not containing gen AI, so if you wanna avoid being a part of the conversation it's easy.

I really don't know what people are expecting when its filming in New Zealand in the same places LOTR used and generally its not like Zelda is known for its super in depth stories. I'm expecting a basic fantasy flick with Zelda names on it, which might be fine enough.

And I'm officially registered for a Pharamcist course early next year. A career change is scary but my media production just isn't getting it done as far as being self sustaining especially when a lot of it is moving out of state now. Nervous but excited too.
