Special little hoodies (hooded plovers) at Port Neill on the Eyre Peninsula.
These vulnerable birds have to cope with many threats but some good work by dedicated volunteers around Australia's southern shoreline is making a difference.
I love finding these.

A curlew sandpiper at Bald Hill Beach from last year.
These migratory birds returned recently from Siberia.
Listed as critically endangered, though we seem to have good numbers here in South Australia.
There is concern about food supply given the current toxic algal bloom but so far, so good.

On my way to the @sedgwickmuseum.bsky.social tonight and in the Grand Arcade shopping centre I noted some lovely fossils in the floor: an ammonite in section showing the chambers and a belemnite in section showing the phragmocone.
