Shakadang Trail in Taiwan's Taroko Gorge is a wonderful trek through tropical mountainous terrain. Not far from the entrance/exit is this crystal-blue pool to cool off after the hike.

The Milky Way over the Woolshed Flat Wesleyan Methodist Church which was built in 1859.
I used light painting to illuminate the church as I took this long-exposure shot.
Taken on a freezing night in 2020 in the Clare Valley.

Unidentified Crab Spider (Sidymella sp.) with my index finger for scale. Probably one of the largest crab spiders I've seen, and definitely one of the orangest.

Photograph of a square-ended crab spider (Sidymella sp.) on a black plastic surface which appears light grey due to camera's flash diffuser. The spider is a rich orange colour, with small dark orange spots and a striped down its cephalothorax. Its 4 forelegs are especially long and stretched out either side, like a crab's claws (hence the name). Same subject, higher angle showing the abdomen more clearly including the trapezoid dorsal surface that makes it a "square ended" crab spider. At this angle, the background appears black and reflecting. Same subject, wider angle and directly overhead, now with the tip of the author's index finger included for scale. The spider's forelegs are just wide enough to hug the fingertip but wouldn't wrap around it.

Diuris sp. - Donkey Orchid

Seen in September, this is possibly the Small-flowered Donkey Orchid (Diuris porrifolia) given it was seen in an inland, easterly location and given height of the flowering stem.
