This is part of why we need contingency plans. “The NIH isn’t going to fund this research for a while so stop doing it” is extremely short-sighted and harmful. We need people to have more vision than that.
I worry that not enough of a big deal is being made about how long-term the devastation of these budget cuts to our scientific and health agencies will be, beyond the absolute ruin they will cause in the acute period.

So… am watching last of us. And I know it’s a zombie movie but as a surfer the scene where Ellie gets hit by a wave in Seattle and survives for more than 5 min in that water, it’s just so much more unbelievable than the zombies. It really is a black mark on the series 😂😂
