In my view, this is what happens when taxes are kept artificially low. Previous Councils did that and, as a consequence, kicked the can down the road to the tune of $5.2 billion in deficits that we have to catch up on. It means putting off maintenance and repairs, which can have impacts like these.

No water (or elevators) either after the backup power failed! Grateful for neighbours who cheer eachother on in the stairwell as we hauled about 20 litres of water up to our floor. #HamOnt

ETR updated to 1-3 am, backup power (and therefore elevators and water) have failed in our building.
(We do have places we can go if needed but are going to try to tough it out to avoid driving in the storm tomorrow)

This summer when they were filming, we were sitting on the patio 2 restaurants down and asked a crew member what they were filming (as one does when your neighbourhood is basically a giant film studio). When they said a hockey show we just presumed Shoresy!
