For months, Trump’s DHS has wreaked lawless havoc in our neighborhoods. Tear gassing infants, families, and police. Firing their weapons at peaceful citizens. Killing innocent people.

It’s brutal, unconstitutional, and out of control.

It must stop.

Kristi Noem must go. Now.

Last week, we published a story detailing ICE's strategy for recruiting new officers, including targeting "gun rights" supporters and geo-fencing ads around gun shows.

Ex-ICE director told me: “That mentality you’re fostering tends to inculcate in people a certain aggressiveness"

After Columbine I thought we would move heaven and earth to prevent mass shootings.

We did nothing and now they are almost a daily occurrence.

Today we watched an ICE thug brutally murder an American citizen in cold blood. A young mother.

If we do nothing this too will become a daily occurrence.

I know this feels impossible now, but I swear, on January 6 itself, there was a pretty broad bipartisan consensus that storming the Capitol to find and kill lawmakers was bad, and that Trump was responsible for inciting his followers to try it

I have nothing to add to J6 discourse except that Trump should have been tried, convicted, and imprisoned and it's a stain on this country that it didn't happen.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

“The three most important days in American history since the Civil War have been: Dec 7, 1941. Sept. 11. And Jan. 6. We don’t use years for the last two. They aren’t dates on a calendar; they are scar tissue.” Spot on, Rep. Swalwell. Eric hits this one on the nose.

Opinion | I gaveled in Congress on Jan. 6. We can never stop looking back at what happened.
Rep. Eric Swalwell: By claiming that Jan. 6 was “a day of love,” Trump is attempting to gaslight our nation on an industrial scale.

Word of caution. Just because Trump claims that the USA controls things in Venezuela, it does not mean that it does or is anywhere close to doing so. All Trump has done so far is remove one dictator but leave a dictatorial system in place.
Don't mistake his bluster for truth.

This piece is a great illustration of how the long-term effect of Trump’s destruction of US institutions won’t be felt in a dramatic market collapse, but rather in permanently worse economic conditions, and lower prosperity.

Notice that the parts of Trump's economic program that help working and middle class Americans — DOGE checks, tariff rebates, and warrior dividends — are popular, progressive, and non-existent. Tax cuts for the rich are unpopular, regressive and very very real.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.
