With a eugenics pushing ghoul like Kennedy as HHS Secretary and a GOP caucus that has already taken a trillion dollars out of health care, it is a pretty safe bet that anything these people do on the subject is a painted cardboard facade in front of a gas chamber.

Those w/ pre-existing conditions certainly won't be able to get "healthcare on their own terms."

I can't shake the feeling that this is yet another attempt to discard those who have health issues (ie, pre-existing conditions) and feed them to the wolves. It's peak fascism.
Cassidy: "The president is proposing that we take the $26b that would be going to insurance companies if we just do an extension and give it directly to the American people in which 100% of the money is used for them to purchase healthcare on their own terms. That makes them an informed consumer."

Bessent on tariffs: "This is one of President Trump's signature policies, and traditionally the Supreme Court does not interfere with a president's signature policy."

THIS. Teenage victims have a completely different set of prejudices to deal with. Trust me, I know. Grooming is probably the least understood aspect of child abuse.

This!
The real issue isn’t immigration, it’s the feedback loop: platforms amplify anxiety → voters feel it → politicians chase it → hollow policy follows. Until we break that cycle, we won’t get functional decisions or functional democracy.

A huge amount of state resources intended to fight crime - from the FBI to state and local police to DEA agents to IRS tax enforcement - have been redeployed to immigration enforcement. It is a great time to be a criminal in America.
“Homeland security agents investigating sexual crimes against children…have been redeployed to the immigrant crackdown…hampering their pursuit of child predators…efforts to combat human smuggling and sex trafficking have languished…”

It's a revealing moment...

J.D. Vance welcomes a two-legged robot helping on the job site. But if that helper is a person named Jose, he calls it a threat. Same tasks, same productivity boost.

The inconsistency reveals this isn’t about economics.
