The greatest threats to our health today aren’t the ones that make headlines. In @time.com, I write that when we see the unseen, believe progress is possible, and create solutions that work, we can save millions more lives.

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

Heartfelt thanks and very best wishes to Melinda Wharton!
💔 CDC continues to lose our best and brightest as science, health, and the American people remain under attack.

Our heartfelt thanks to Melinda Wharton.

Babies are dying of whooping cough and measles like they haven’t in decades. It’s time to #FireRFKjr and save ourselves.

RFK Jr. rolled out that old chestnut again about how healthy Americans were in the 60’s, so here’s a fact check.

In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now.

-Overall life expectancy was 70 years; it's about 77 years now.

Sec Kennedy said he doesn’t know how many people died of COVID in the US. But cites what percentage of world COVID deaths occurred in the US. US deaths divided by worldwide deaths X 100. So either he knows how many people died in the US or doesn’t know percentages.

I’ve spent a good chunk of my career relying on American science and engineering to keep me alive. Yesterday, RFK Jr. testified at the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. It was sad to see him try to destroy the life’s work of so many American scientists. He shouldn’t be in this job.

Instead of using peer-reviewed science, they deceive the public by:
1. Pretending there are no data when in reality there is a massive amount of hi-quality data (eg autism)
2. Blaming it on 'Big Pharma' when data dont fit their beliefs
3. Doing 'studies' with flawed methods & predetermined outcomes
