The US cutting off oil to Cuba is truly one of the most depraved acts it is possible to imagine. Hospitals will close, food production will collapse, people will starve. It is urgent for US citizens, and every sane person, to oppose this barbarism with all their might.

I actually agree that there is going to be a skill gap between people who regularly use AI vs those who refuse to use it, and it's that after the bubble pops the refusers will be fine while the AI-dependent will be missing or have let atrophy basic skills

The alien ambassador sidled through the museum in awe.

"You Humans have so much art! Do you have machines to make all paintings, poems, stories and songs?"

"We experimented with that, briefly," the guide said. "But humans are both cheaper and more creative. And, well, we will make art regardless."

There's an ongoing tension between "green" progressives who think density=fewer trees, and what I've seen called "gray environmentalists" or those who realize stopping urban sprawl is actually the best thing we can do for the environment (except getting rid of the billionaires)

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

If Google stopped providing GMail for free tomorrow, there is nothing any Canadian government could do about it.

And quite frankly, nor should they.

If you want e-mail as a critical service, make Canada Post an e-mail provider.

And make it accountable to the people through Government.

Fantastic aurora all over the northern hemisphere and, once again, it's cloudy where I live. 🙃
Not sure I have ever seen this color of aurora before - literally pure blue and indigo. This is happening now over central Canada in Rabbit Lake, SK.

Thank you @senatorpaulasimons.bsky.social for your leadership on getting our gov and institutions off x. Powerful words I hope are listened to.

This thread highlighting your Senate colleagues is wonderful. What amazing people I'm happy to be able to hear from.

Thank you all for your service 🇨🇦
This is a very kind wish. But I'd also like to ask you to follow other Canadian senators who are already here, and who haven't been as lucky as I have in connecting with an audience. I convinced a fair few Senate friends to give this platform a try, but many didn't feel it worked for them. #cdnpoli
#canadiansky Let’s get the Senator’s follower numbers up to demonstrate engagement here is good comms strategy.

I might be going out on a limb, but historically, criminals have not exactly gone along with instructions from the police. Funny how the cops were still been able to arrest a lot of people, doing demonstrably more violent things, in the past.

Honor has no price tag. It is bought only through actions, through conducting yourself with integrity, with kindness towards others, with ferocity towards those who promote hatred and bigotry. Nor can anybody, no matter how wealthy, buy it or take it from you. Honor is priceless.
