When I tried to copy-paste the image from Adrienne's post (using LibreWolf) the image turned into a bunch of parallel lines, which is some strange bug I've observed for months now when trying to use LibreWolf to interact with BlueSky. I have no idea what might be causing this strange image glitch.

This is a real issue with liberal politicians in the United States. U.S. liberals have been losing political battles to GOP fascism since 1980, when #RonaldReagan (or rather, his screenwriters) were able to take the U.S. into explicitly fascist government for the first time, and the Democrats caved.
I sort of agree it doesn't feel like Epstein was blackmailing anyone, but still don't really understand where he was making all this money. He comes off as a subliterate lech almost singularly fixated on sex, not exactly a wise financial hand. His role explicitly seemed to be "the guy with girls."
Last week the far right started peddling a narrative that the outrage over Epstein is a moral panic. Today, like clockwork, a more polite version of that narrative appears in the Atlantic.

This is a real issue with liberal politicians in the United States. U.S. liberals have been losing political battles to GOP fascism since 1980, when #RonaldReagan (or rather, his screenwriters) were able to take the U.S. into explicitly fascist government for the first time, and the Democrats caved.
I don't particularly think of the Seattle Seahawks as "my" team even though I've been living in Seattle for about a quarter of a century now; I have a peculiar lingering loyalty to the San Diego teams even though it's of the sort of backhanded loyalty where I hope they're total shit year after year.

And Mr. @whstancil.bsky.social is a BAD observer, a fraudulent observer. But this is typical of the modern-day #business culture. In multiple venues, cynical and ambitious professionals attempt to play their own versions of this double game: pretending to be *observers* while also hoping to profit.
