From my experience that was the preferred approach, because otherwise you’d either have to be a story “approved” by whatever entity and more often than not, non-fiction or with approved themes to avoid misaligning the entity in any way. Hope that helps!

Usually easier to just change the name so it’s just recognizable enough what the “real life” equivalent is without drawing 1:1 lines.
