My grandkids remaining dog went to the vet today. I stopped in to lend support. He is very sick. He has an appointment for surgery tomorrow. These kids can't lose this dog, too. It's only been less than two months.

Billionaires don't know their local bus schedule. They don't know when things go on sale at the grocery store. They don't know which cops are safe and which are not. They don't know what civil asset forfeiture is. They don't know how to live in SF on a single teacher's salary, and pay for child care

Financial literacy for someone that makes a billion dollars a year, is things like, "How to buy a sports team," and "What is a Super PAC."

If you're neither a billionaire, nor in poverty, financial literacy means things like "What is a 401k, and what is an FSA?" And "What is a 1031 exchange?"

There are different things that you need to know if your income level is ~$10K a year, ~$100K a year, ~$1M a year, ~$10M a year, ~$100M a year, and $1B a year.

Financial literacy for someone that makes ~$10K a year, is: "How to apply for SNAP," and "What time do the buses stop running?"

One of the weirdest things I see with all this financial literacy discourse, is people that think that they're being helpful, offering to teach poor people about financial literacy.

They say things like, "It's important to put some of your savings into your 401k or IRA!" to people with no savings.🤦🏿‍♂️

Yeah but who had POWER ?

Who maneuvered to get POWER

without

Duty of care?

Who leans on their authority to avoid listening yo boundaries or limits

Who needs everything to be “fair” or they try to destroy you?

I work for the one percent of the one percent. The people who donate buildings and wings or entire hospitals or schools. The free and highly expensive stuff they receive and particularly this time of the year is just mindblowing.

I say lean in. If racists, sexists, homophobes, etc are part of working class solidarity and we need to accept them then when I tell a white person to "change this brief, cracker" I don't want to here one fucking word.

Mmmm...Cracker is going to sound so good when I say it and dont get fired because "working class solidarity".
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

I'm a team player at work. I cover my coworkers and advocate for them because if we dont take care of us, who will? And I am OVER IT. It's never the big stuff. It's always the months of small stuff that would take 1 second more building up.

Too many of these “gifts” end up at the shelter .

sacrifices.

Massachusetts was the 1st state to pass the closest thing to a universal healthcare system, but while the system was referred to as “RomneyCare,” the only reason it became law was because the Democratic legislature, which had veto-proof majorities in both the state house & senate passed it.

That’s great, but I ask you to bear in mind the following:

“She’s far more qualified but he has a better chance of winning.”

Step 1: Ask yourself why that’s your opinion.

Step 2: Ask yourself why the fuck you’re accepting that & aren’t addressing that reasoning in the 1st place, because every answer you have isn’t based on merit.

Step 3: Work on that.

This morning I was driving to work down a major road. State Patrol had it's light on, no siren and was sitting in a left turn, going the other way. I moved over right before I got to him to allow him to do what he needed. He did, nothing.

I love Oregon. Perhaps it's the relative newness of north Pacific landscapes. A north Pacific beach is far superior to me than any other type of beach.
