We absolutely need a culture of reading for pleasure - it’s my past, present and future. It makes me sad for children that such a culture has declined so much. I fully support this initiative. #readingforpleasure
I totally support the National Year Of Reading initiative. We desperately need a culture of reading for pleasure to replace the culture of constant testing in schools, backed by proper government funding. And we need STORYTIME to be part of the school day, every day! #literacy

Wow 🤩 I’m so so happy to be amongst the winners of #iamwriting literary competition for my novel Henhouse. Thanks to the judges, especially @livmaidment.bsky.social for rating my work.
Our first year hosting the I Am Writing Literary/Upmarket Fiction proved to be a huge success. Agent @livmaidment.bsky.social had a REALLY difficult time choosing from such beautiful entries. Thank you for everything, Liv. And well done to these talented wordsmiths

Imagine, say, a steel company stealing coal to power their plant, arguing it's fair use because they they require that material to develop their own industry. Most industries are required to purchase their raw materials. This is scandalous #corporatetheft.

This is great news for everyone. Court rules that AI violates copyright. I hope this is the first of many cases and that the greed of tech firms thinking they are immune to charges of theft is quashed. Now we need some convictions! #AIviolatescopyright #authorsowncopyright #theftisnotfairuse
In first intellectual property AI court ruling, judge rules that copying material for input into AI violates copyright. Case differs in some ways from the bigger ones to come, but it seems like it doesn't bode well for the AI industry.

The world’s richest 1% have more wealth than the bottom 95% put together, according to Oxfam.

There is no moral justification for this extraordinary level of inequality.

It's distorting politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
World’s top 1% own more wealth than 95% of humanity, as “the shadow of global oligarchy hangs over UN General Assembly,” says Oxfam | Oxfam International
