It's hard to overstate how fully engaged Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in this ICE madness. There are neighborhood watch alerts, spontaneous crowds gathering outside schools at pick up & drop off plus madly blowing whistles and honking car horns, this city is fighting back and hard.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Q: "A 75-year-old Cuban national died in lCE custody. He had lived in the U.S. for 60 years. Is there anything you can tell us about that?"

Tom Homan: "People die in lCE custody. People die in county jails. People die in state prisons."

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

RFK Jr. is very loud and very WRONG about Autism.

1. It’s not a disease
2. There are thousands of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder who pay taxes, have jobs, can use the bathroom on their own, and are thriving in life.

Boston showed up today to send a clear message: We will not sit by while Donald Trump and his billionaire friends dismantle the protections that our families count on.

Hands off Boston.

A few years ago I visited the National Museum of African American History & Culture with my grandparents. When we stepped out of the building my grandmother kept repeating the words “I lived it. I lived it. I lived it.”

She’s still here. That history is still in her bones. You can never erase that.

Today, I ended a long streak.

May 26th, 2012 - March 19th, 2025

I was fortunate enough to get an ebike voucher from @boston.gov last year, but with surgeries and cancer in the way, I thought I'd lose it. But they gave me an extension!

Today, I began to ride again for the first time since 2012!

A couple hours ago, the FTC was deleting hundreds of blog posts. Now, Trump is seemingly trying to delete Democratic commissioners.

Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya just posted this statement to X.

This is not a draining of the swamp or “low-productivity workers” that the Trump administration imagines filling seats at the CDC—but the future of our epidemiology infrastructure.

News: Half of CDC "disease detectives" terminated. DOGE takes aim at US disease surveillance.
Entire first-year class of the Epidemic Intelligence Service must be out by 5 p.m., sources say. Also: a major CDC contractor "just let go," and others may follow.

Federal public health workers across HHS were terminated.
We focus a lot on the CDC, but premier public health workers are at all HHS agencies, and HHS cut over 5200 workers today.
Probation is 1 year for regular staff, 2 years for management level, and 1 year for newly promoted supervisors
