The core JOB of government in a democracy is to tax and spend to make people's lives better. Decades of anti-democracy propaganda turned people against "tax and spend." That's what democracy IS.

-All developed economies (every one) see birth-rates falling, as average income goes up.
-Euro countries, Japan, S Korea, + China & Russia have steeply aging population.
-US different *only* because of immigration.

"Corporate behaviour" is EXECUTIVES making decisions.
The only way to hold a corporation accountable is to hold the EXECUTIVES accountable. That means prosecutions and fines have to be targeted at the humans who made decisions, not at "corporations." That just lets the executives get away with it.

I think there's a best seller (or at least a PhD dissertation) to be written on the types and severities of mental illnesses that come with morbid wealth. It could be very entertaining.
