We are doing everything we can at MPRB which in my opinion is not enough- no false sense of safety here - the situation with the federal government is one that really needs all of us- literally defend612.com - I’ll write more MPRB related thoughts in further comments.

Yesterday an ICE agent named Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Nicole Good. Renee was a wife, a mother, and a resident of south Minneapolis. Anyone who kills someone in our city deserves to be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, including Jonathan Ross.

We don’t need to bring in the national guard. Not the state nor the federal government.

Neighbors have been coming together to help keep our communities safe from immigration enforcement. 1/

If you are a small business or property owner, you have the right to not allow ICE onto your property without a signed judicial warrant. Please come out to Central Ave to support our immigrant owned businesses and look out for your neighbors.

The Lakeville Hampton Inn (or just Lakeville Inn now?) was in the right here and Hilton is in the wrong.

I'd suggest anyone visiting Minnesota stay at the Lakeville Inn. And boycott Hilton hotels nationwide until they stop headquartering an occupying army in Minneapolis.

There has only been one homicide this year in the City of Minneapolis... Which was perpetrated by the Federal Government. ICE is not here for the safety of our City - Fullstop.
Minneapolis City Council Member Jamison Whiting called for ICE to leave the city and for "accountability and transparency."

In order for our neighbors and communities to feel safe we need to get ICE out of our city and state. I call on elected leaders at every level of government to work alongside the City Council and community leaders towards this goal.

Her death is on the hands of Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and other federal Republican leaders. Their policies, their exaggerated rhetoric, and their disregard for the lives of Minnesotans lead directly to this killing. 4/

Thank you to Commissioner @kayforparks.bsky.social for being the sole vote against the MPRB general counsel Brian Rice.

I’m proud to have voted for a champion of working people this past November.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has its first meeting of the term. Tucked in among the Commissioners taking their oaths and sorting out MPRB leadership and assignments is an agenda item to vote on a contract for the MPRB's general counsel. Brian Rice is almost certain to be selected.
