I attended Catholic school from K-12 and there are certain things that instantly take me back. Whenever I hear the word *contrite*, I think of the Act of Contrition, which I have known by heart pretty much all of my life.

Oh, rad. There is a confirmed case of mumps in Hawaii. On Hawaii island, so not where I'm at, but if we learned anything from Covid, it's that in the modern age of air travel, contagious illnesses don't care about geography.

I stayed at a very fancy resort in Wailea on Maui this weekend because there was an extra pre-paid room. It was very nice, but I was surrounded by very wealthy people, which can get weird sometimes.

When I was growing up, one wall of our garage was filled with shelves of books with no covers. I dont know who my mom’s source was, but we had a steady supply of delightfully trashy fiction with some actual gems in the mix.
on the first page of a book they used to say that you should never buy books at a discount with the covers ripped off. and it always made me mad i paid full price. no one ever told me where this coverless bookstore was

Since we're talking about autism, while my flavor of neuro-spiciness isn't autism, I can definitely tell it runs in my family. When my nephew was diagnosed, my brother made way more sense to me.

Just came home from watching the Seattle Storm win against the Las Vegas Aces, and without regard to game play, I absolutely love that when they pan to Megan Rapinoe in her seat, they announce her as Sue Bird's girlfriend.
