People in my neighborhood actually trapped a bunch of chickens and then released them on another part of the island and I’m like, how does that help, exactly?

Yeah, I see that kind of review all of the time. Basically, we went to a rural area and were surprised that there was so much nature.

And yeah, Iniki was the hurricane that caused the boom of feral chickens on Oahu. Kauai had them much earlier.

I don’t mind them because they eat bugs. Lots of people complain about them crowing at all hours, but I find the college kids driving their modified to be louder mopeds way more annoying.

So many feral chickens in Honolulu too.

Language is fascinating. Varmint and vermin were the same word, spelled differently because of regional variations in pronunciation. Similarly victuals and vittles.

I pronounce it like Atmosphere, not Amos.

This isn’t a bar, but this granola recipe is a standard for me because it’s not overly sweet.

Oh no! Lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court has always been a terrible idea.

Obama got elected on my birthday his first term, so that was nice.

I'm not saying that I necessarily *agree*, but it's just there in the background.

It's also fortunate that the particular word is not very common any longer, or I'd constantly be having that prayer running through my head.

That is one of my favorite movies. My sister and I watched it so many times when we were tweens that we can pretty much recite the whole thing.

"After days and nights of unconsciousness, Atreyu slowly opened his eyes and found himself in strange surroundings.", etc.

Nope, they’re already up at Macy’s Kahala.

JFC, that is one of the most haole things I've ever read about Hawai'i. I'll bet he doesn't pronounce the names of the islands correctly.

I don’t like it, so I don’t look, but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if they had it.
