Is this the system we want for the UK?
Do our doctors want to be rich so much that they'll let the system be screwed over for extortionate profit?
Can YOU afford private insurance?
Would you qualify? Could you afford the excesses?

Do we want to be another MAGA state?

Fuck no.
She paid hundreds of thousands for life-saving open-heart surgery and only avoided bankruptcy because she had solid insurance.

For anyone without coverage or savings, the same surgery could ruin them or cost their life.
That’s how broken this system is.

When I wrote the Commission’s position on the conversion practices petition that went before the Scottish Parliament’s EHRCJ Committee she removed a reference to a position articulated by the UN’s independent expert on sexual orientation and gender identity on the grounds the UN ‘is a lobby group’.

Lobbyist / ex Tory MP Ben Howlett has been done by an undercover sting. As ever, the most revealing thing is how very very cheap it is buy access in British media/politics — and especially how Howlett controls one of the biggest UK pol Twitter accounts!

I volunteer with a London youth club that does amazing things on a budget with low overheads.

This week we're running a matched funding campaign. For every £1 donated the club gets £2.

And if you donate any amount, I'll give you a free month of London Centric.

Thank you, @joshbabarinde.bsky.social for pressing the government on today's appalling leaked EHRC proposals. It is both sickening and predictable that they should leak on Transgender Day of Remembrance. Thank you for committing the @libdems.org.uk to standing up for our rights.

I suspect they're delaying it because its mental and unworkable - and is clearly aimed at the exclusion of trans, and gender conforming people, from society.

The real danger we face is that if Trump mounts a military coup, he may not need many troops, since local police like this across the country may readily join his effort and suppress any local uprisings against it.
at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.

he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.

situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.

This man was trafficked into Britain, in ways which the government would now use to make him subject to deportation. According to a leading political pundit, he brought with him ancestral violence, which means that he *and his British-born children* should be expelled.

I heard from Sarah Kendzior @sarahkendzior.bsky.social that her account was suspended.

Can you please look into this and reinstate her account? She’s a published author and scholar on authoritarianism. Her presence here is valuable.

Conscious bias?
