Microsoft, Google, Meta and Amazon paying influencers $400k-$600k to post months of AI hype content. Absolutely busted, failed industry, embarrassing era

Google and Microsoft offer lucrative deals to promote AI, but even $500,000 won't sway some creators
Tech companies including Google and Microsoft are paying influencers hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote AI products.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

like they're going after authors who post "too frequently" and write too eloquently because they can't fathom that someone with creativity and drive can pump out 20k quality words a week
January 14, 2026 at 8:00 PM
maybe we should gatekeep ao3. far too many normies posting ai generated yaoi and now readers are witch hunting actual writers for using the em dash

uhhh sir you aren't allowed to shoot us until we scan your code
January 14, 2026 at 6:08 PM
they can't even scan your concert tickets if your phone brightness isn't high enough
January 14, 2026 at 6:03 PM
it took like three tries to scan the menu bar code on a dimly lit, but stationary, bar table last night. how will this work with a highly combative ice agent who can just. move
January 14, 2026 at 6:02 PM
"sir if you could stop threatening me for two seconds, your badge details are almost done loading"
January 14, 2026 at 5:56 PM
imagine getting phished bc you scanned the ice qr code
January 14, 2026 at 5:53 PM
incredibly techbrained solution here. they're detaining people and smashing their phones just for taking pictures right now but somehow they'll stand still enough for an observer to scan their qr code??
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

unfortunately with the trajectory of internet speak, the yaoi discourse will resurface as the phrase "fujoshing out" goes mainstream. i predict takes like "Is Fujoshing Out Problematic?" and "How To Fujoshi Out Respectfully" within the next six weeks
December 15, 2025 at 8:00 PM
not to nitpick but when did "fujoshing out" becoming a thing. the term is "fujoing out." this is context collapse in action, and as the mainstream internet absorbs fandom vernacular, it'll forget the og fujos who carved this depraved path for everyone else. and that's my ted talk
