Entire communities across Alaska rely on it for all their news, tsunami and extreme weather warnings, and much more that helps them stay alive and informed. Like that’s it. That’s all they have. There is nothing else. Some of these places don’t have vegetables if a barge doesn’t show up regularly.

Lisa had the chance to use her enormous power to do something really meaningful today, but as usual when the stakes were the highest, she caved and voted the party line. It’s really sad because lots of Alaskans will die without Medicaid, and she just signed their death warrant.

If this bill is signed into law, I think it's fair to consider it a sign that the U.S. government should be treated as openly hostile to the people of this continent. I am in no way advocating violence with this post, but please understand that self-defense in many forms will be sadly necessary.

Imagine if we had more people running for office in Alaska because they genuinely love our shared home, not the myth of American exceptionalism it represents or the capital they can harvest from it
I saw so many people talking about how Mamdani and Lander were clearly running because they love their city and want to make life better there, while Cuomo seems to hate and fear it, and that feels like the key piece of this campaign that could be replicable by progressives everywhere
