Amid ICE clashes, New Hampshire bishop urges clergy to prepare their wills
The Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire told priests protesting ICE to get their wills and affairs in order. Some praise the bishop, while other priests say they never signed up to be martyrs.

Outsiders need to understand that if you’re observing ICE it’s an inevitability you’ll get threatened like this eventually. They led me back to my house again today in a really scary situation, which I did at least record and can share later if there’s interest. But that’s less scary than this.
Pretty strong elsewhere (I'm in Hopkins). Got pulled over twice, guns drawn both times, to give me "final warnings" to stop following them.

Heritage Foundation, building on Project 2025, is pushing a new blueprint to regulate private life: federally funded “marriage bootcamps” run by churches, cash bonuses for heterosexual marriage, and executive orders forcing all federal policy to favor a Christian nationalist definition of family.
Project 2025 January 14th Update
This week, Heritage published its blueprint for federally subsidized "marriage bootcamps" run by churches. The White House rewrote January 6 as a peaceful stroll. And U.S. forces dragged Nicolás Madur...

The reason the “paid protestor” accusation is so popular is that these are people who cannot imagine doing something because it’s right, to stand up for a principle, talking to other people like that.
Rep. Byron Donalds: "These agitators -- who by the way are paid, folks. America, they are paid to do this kind of mess."

respectfully, it isn't. it's because seeing people stand up and put their bodies on the line for a cause is persuasive, and inspires sympathy. it demonstrates that the regime's policies are unpopular. so you have to make it seem like this isn't an organic objection.

This chart by @nathanielbullard.com is one reason data centers are driving up our electricity prices. Tech companies usually build data centers close to cities, where accommodating their GW-scale power demand entails costly reinforcement of wires or transformers. Utilities pass those costs on to us.
