The natural world is my church, and I use the Oxford comma.
Pinned
"...you could go up to a stranger on the street and say, 'I am inconsolably lonely,' and he might take you home with him and introduce you to his family and ask you to stay for dinner But that wouldn't help. Because loneliness is not a longing for company, it is a longing for kind."

"Iron laws of the world"? Some of America's most important national accomplishments are about leading humanity away from this kind of bullshit.

If we let ideologues like Stephen Miller drag us back into a world where brute force is all that matters, all of us will be less safe.

I love my country and believe in the ideals of America and our democracy, and I call on democracies around the world like Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Denmark, etc to launch sanctions against us. It is time. Trump is out of control.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."

This could, and should, change if people would only stand up and vote! There is power in numbers!!!
In a healthy democracy, there would bipartisan Articles of Impeachment on the floor of the House by tonight

But we are neither a healthy democracy nor, I would argue—given the end of our separation of powers and our rule of law—a democracy at all anymore

1. Maduro is not a good guy by any stretch of the imagination.
2. But capturing him through an extra-legal action that violates international law undermines any US credibility with Russia in Ukraine and China with Taiwan.
3. We have a terrible history with topping leaders without a post-war plan.

So fmr Honduran President Hernandez voluntarily surrendered, and was duly extradited, tried and convicted for drug trafficking, and Trump pardoned him 6w ago.

And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.

Here’s a dirty little secret of 2025 that’s not as depressing as it seems:
Losing faith in institutions wasn’t nihilism. It was discernment - an informed adult response to watching dudebro arsonists assume control of the fire department.

Interesting that the Seven Mountain Mandate does not specify science as an area to dominate.
The idea Christians should be in positions of power is central to today’s Christian right, but it took root decades ago.

“We should be taking over every area of life,” one leader said in 1985.

New in PN: Why every vestige of Trump must be torn down

"The truly devoted will still open their wallets to buy lifetime supplies of Trump Bronzer for Men, Trump Blast Energy Drink, & Trump Adult Diapers. But his name should not adorn anything official, anything representing our country & its govt"
Why every vestige of Trump must be torn down
He's trying to create a physical legacy. The moment he's out of power, it has to be smashed to bits.

Millions of Americans remain at jobs they hate for one reason: the health insurance they receive. That’s absurd.

Universal health care will give Americans the freedom to choose the work they want without worrying about health care coverage.

Another reason for Medicare for All.

Please stop saying "That's not who we are as a country."

Obviously it IS who we are at the moment.

Instead, try saying "That's not who we SHOULD be."
Jason Crow: "I did three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I saw the unedited video of that double tap strike in early September that killed survivors. It was gutting to me because there was just no justification for that second strike. That's not who we are as a country."

If you think switching which corporate owned legacy media outlet you consume is the solution, you don't really understand how deep the problem is. It's not just ABS, CBS, WaPo or the LA Times. It's the system in which they work.

The only solution is to support pro-democracy independent media.
