The Oscar broadcast was over 4 hrs long. Movies about immigrants, trans people & authoritarian regimes all won awards, yet barely anyone spoke up about what’s happening. Seeing my industry bend the knee (or cower) is disappointing. I know it’s scary to speak up, but art is supposed to be dangerous.
