Did you know the potato chip was invented in the 1850s by a chef named George Crum specifically to annoy a customer who complained that his potatoes were sliced too thin? It’s true! So let this be a reminder that great things are possible through dedication to your craft and unquenchable spite.

Another perennial favorite on the way to a dog lover in the Midwest.

This design is inspired by my rescue pup pittie mix Ellie.

I am really honored that I've been able to create jewelry that memorializes a beloved furry family member. See some examples on my website at:

Been feeling like I need a bit more protection from the craziness. So made this sterling silver hamsa 🪬 pendant, a symbol of protection & positive energy. ❤️ The negative space was oxidized to make the design pop. 🪬 Stay safe out there, kids. #handmade #handmadejewelry #hamsapendant #turquoisejewelry

Final piece (top) from my first try at glass casting. My mold cracked in the kiln so I had to do some work grinding down where the glass went wonky. Overall, not a terrible first try! #glasscasting #glassart #neverstoplearning #platypus

A few items fresh from the polishing tumbler. I'm a few weeks away from starting a new full-time job but I've been enjoying the break since leaving my old job. It's been a real privilege to just play with metal and find my creative spark again. 💥 #actuallyhandmade #handmadejewelry #smallmetalobjects

Unless you live in a Southwest focus city, why would you ever fly Southwest now? It’s rarely the cheapest fare (often the *highest* fare out of NYC), offers none of the perks (free WiFi, power outlets, partner airlines) of other airlines, no buy-on-board food, no seatback screens. It's just sad.

Lots of chatter today about @southwest.com ending their popular free bag policy. It's what made them unique amongst a sea of same. Makes me think about brand and customer experience, and which companies actually care about that anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This one flew out the door quickly and is on its way to Tennessee! I made a few of these pendants last month to celebrate me finally adding a Monstera to my plant collection. 🥳 This was my last one but I'll soon make more. #monsteraleaf #enameling #enameljewelry #handmade #handmadejewelry

Did a hand-built clay platypus for our glass casting project. Not an exact match but I'd say it's not too bad. I love my time in the studio, no matter what I'm working on. 🥰 #maARTch #claymodel #platypus #studiotime

Took a #bonsai class with Pete from New England Bonsai Gardens, the largest bonsai nursery in the Northeast. I learned that you can bonsai any tree, including redwoods. 🤯

This arboricola will hopefully survive me & will look more like a bonsai by end of summer after its first defoliation in June.

This @nytimes.com article about fungi is giving me "The Last of Us" vibes.

Fungi travel using a "living algorithm" to build the most efficient pathway - all without a brain or a nervous system. 😱 😳

Many things are very bad. Please plan something fun for yourself. It could be a date, a day at a museum, a long hike somewhere, a visit to a favorite bakery, time with friends, ice skating, a comedy show, or a massage.

Give yourself something to look forward to. It really makes a difference.
