begging pixel artist to not make Idle animations by simply moving the knee area pixels up and down. you need to waste all you time and budget to make the character pull out a ciggy and puff it. Very important

In my early 20s in the late 90s or early 00s, I found a lesbian alternative comix anthology in a back issue bin.
One story had Betty (from Archie) dress as a boy to go on a date w/ Veronica.
Another featured a cartoon lady w/ a fish head hypnotized by nazis.
If anyone recognizes this let me know

You don't need to be able to read every pore and eyelash on a character's face for "good" graphics. You need good art direction and design. Those are what ensure your game still looks striking and memorable even decades later.
When you consider that this beauty runs on 25 year old hardware, the possibilities for us are still endless.

Okay so thanks to a chance encounter on @arizamuuru.bsky.social stream I may have stumbled across one of my new favorite Indie devs rn store.steampowered.com/developer/Lu ~They make very short cute stylized experiences with immaculate lofi vibes and art and I just cannot help but stop and gush 1/2
