Heads are going to explode 💥

Cato Institute just nuked the lie. Immigrants have cut U.S. deficits by $14.5 TRILLION since 1994, slashing the national debt by a third.

All that “immigrants are bleeding us dry” noise? Absolute bullshit.

Update: The Monday after this story ran, Sonya was punished for "soliciting" donations. She told me in a letter today that her custody level has been lowered, meaning that she "must live in the unit cell block with the more misbehaved women, my freedom inside the prison is severely limited."
NEW: I spoke with the Texas inmate who was put in solitary confinement after a GoFundMe for her sick prison cat went viral. While she's since been returned to regular housing, she and her longtime friend worry that more retaliation could be on the way.

what if we don't use exactly the same language the dude who shot Renée Good used

This is an absolute threat. “You’re not going to stop ICE. You’re not going to stop Border Patrol.”

Said with the cool casual tone of a sociopath.

Anyone with a heart will be moved by it, so share it across platforms & tell friends.

We must speak out & fight like h'll to protect our neighbors from the ICE thugs that have infected our communities.

A combination of capitalism, corporate media failures, and anti-journalism propaganda has convinced a lot of people that journalists exist to turn a profit. They no longer seem to realize that the purpose of journalism is for them, the people.

so crazy to me that a woman asked trump if he has any words for epstein's victims and he said "you as a young woman should smile more." it will go nowhere bc republicans refuse to hold trump accountable, but it's still pretty crazy.

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world.

This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

This is civic action.

Surprise, Arizona. Pop. 167,000. Huge crowd shows up to the City Council meeting to oppose DHS recent purchase of ginormous warehouse. Meeting + overflow room filled and hundreds more gathered outside.

130 people sign up to speak. 128 opposed to ICE warehouse.
The overflow room at the Surprise City Council meeting has also filled up (it has a 500 person capacity). I can’t tell how many are still outside but we can hear them chanting “ICE out” in here so it seems like quite a lot.

“They’re so fresh.” What drew these men wasn’t just beauty; it was youth itself—the untouched skin, the wide-eyed uncertainty, the intoxicating sense of absolute control over someone too young to fully understand or resist.

Nobody wants a Gitmo full of innocent people in their backyard. Especially if there's a chance it becomes the next Auchwitz, Buchenwald, Dachau, or Treblinka.

It's a tell they know it will be bad.
Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed.

Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/

Just thinking about my parents' lifetime, when it was still common for households to subscribe to both a morning & evening newspaper, and there were many options--even in an era when most people also had a television & radio. My mom's still alive, it wasn't that long ago. But how quickly destroyed.

i’m seeing “sexual acts with underage women” as the double whammy to erase their ages and erase the sexual violence. It’s sick.
Also, "underage women" isn't a thing. If they're under age, they're not women. That's what under age literally means.

Bari Weiss hates "cancel culture" more than she hates sexual predators and that tells you all you need to know about her, reactionary centrism, and Zionist extremism.
In the latest release of the Epstein papers there's a lot about Peter Attia, the YouTube wellness influencer whom Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss had named as a network contributor.

That would seem to be an easy fix: Sever all ties to Attia. According to @status.news, Weiss wants to stand by her man.
