In physics, we differentiate between kinematics (describing the motion of objects) and dynamics (*explaining* the motion). Political analysis needs to be focusing on dynamics, not kinematics.
Here's where we get into serious "derp" territory.

"Voters perceptions of the two parties have changed since 2012." (True)

But *why* have the perceptions changed? Is it because of policy stances, or because of massive changes in the media system?

If anyone wants an example of how media manipulation works- including manufacturing consent, the danger of 'centralism', and legitimization of bad-faith pseudo science in mainstream media, here you go. Fuck off @cnn.com

Standing up for science can be wacky (and quacky), but effective! Our Quack-O-Grams put us in touch with legislators that are leading the charge to get rid of the Quack RFK Jr. Now is the final stretch! We're fighting until we #impeachrfk !
Thank you to Prof. Dave for a great conversation!

Took the kiddo to see Tron: Ares today. Didn't have high expectations, but you know what? We enjoyed it. It looked cooled, it sounded cool. Years from now it will be a fond childhood memory and he'll want to watch it again with this old man. Isn't that good enough? I think so.

Ha! It looks like Avi Loeb silently edited his Medium post about the Perseverance Navcam images, after being called out for his wrong interpretation.
While he previously claimed the image was of 3I/Atlas, he now says the claim came from "social media". 🔭

🔭 Get your gear ready, we need you for the Juice mission!

To properly reach the Jupiter system in July 2031, #ESAJuice relies on ephemerides - predicted positions of celestial objects at specific times.

Better ephemerides, better planning, better results. This is where you come in. 1/3

Astonishing.
Saturn, rising behind its largest moon Titan.

This scene is a composite of images taken by the Cassini spacecraft on 31 March 2005. At the time, Cassini was 7,000 km from Titan and 1.2 million km from Saturn.

Welp this is horrific.

"Data broker owned by major airlines sells passenger info to US govt for warrantless surveillance" is already a sentence where each 2-4 word phrase is worse than the last, but then fuck knows what other shit said govt is going to get up to *w/* that data now that they have it
New from 404 Media: airlines are selling *5 billion* ticketing records to the government for warrantless searching, per new docs we obtained. ARC is a data broker owned by United, American, Delta, etc. Then sells peoples' travel info to ICE, Secret Service, FBI etc www.404media.co/airlines-sel...
Airlines Sell 5 Billion Plane Ticket Records to the Government For Warrantless Searching
New documents obtained by 404 Media show how a data broker owned by American Airlines, United, Delta, and many other airlines is selling masses of passenger data to the U.S. government.
