Venezuela is just the means for achieving something bigger:
It is the end of art 2 (4) UN CH, the universal prohibition of the use of force in int'l relations.

Trump comes to the aid of his buddy Putin.

He demonstrates that it would be perfectly normal for nuclear powers to invade their neighbors at any time, whenever they please.

In doing so, he normalizes Putin.

Next: Xi and Taiwan.

As a Ukrainian, if you ever cared about Russia's fascist illegal, illegitimate and unjust invasion of Ukraine, you should absolutely care about US's fascist illegal, illegitimate and unjust invasion of Venezuela. My solidarity and best wishes to all Venezuelans.

More scenes from Kharkiv after Russians have just fired ballistic missiles into residential buildings in the city center.

As some of Ukraine's allies are paralyzed chasing phantom Russian "negotiations", the Putin regime only expands the atrocities.

Now: from the games present in the picture - Max Payne.

I'm taking it with the grain if salt because NYT, but still - Trump's camarilla is the biggest OOF for U.S. foreign policy. This all is literally the stuff you would read about in books about Third Reich.

Interesting thread.
It's New Year, so time to look back and forward. These are 10 things I think we need to recognise in 2026. It’s a response to what I think are profoundly damaging mistaken assumptions I’ve heard and read from practitioners, journalists, and analysts in 2025. Warning: very long🧵

The quarter of the XXI century is behind us. Many wishes will be said today, and mine will not be very original. I wish everyone health, because it really is the most important thing in life; peace and liberty, because they give us an opportunity to be who we want to be; and luck. Happy New Year!

For everything else about Trump, it's remarkable how similar his natsec process is to George W. Bush.

It's seemingly almost entirely driven by an insular and small group of people with pathological fixations on working informally to steer all American policy toward their decades-long grievances.

in your 20s, you'll come across someone who's wrong online. it's very important than you spend the next 40 years of your life learning and arguing about this topic online long after they've moved on, built a career, and raised a family.

Then - Rome Total War. I remember playing it on New Year, oblivious to everything.

Now - VtMB. The greatest early 2000s gaming time capsule and one of the greatest RPGs ever.

I admire his patience.
Kudos to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for keeping himself together after Trump‘s statement that „Russia wants Ukraine to succeed“. I would have bursted out laughing. But his facial expressions are priceless.

Another very tough one. Then probably F.E.A.R.

Now... I am going to say Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, but ONLY because RE4 didn't release on PC that year. If we ignore that - Resident Evil 4 wins hands down.

Now... I don't know, really. I haven't replayed any of the games except Rainbow Six Vegas, so this is what I cast my vote for.

russia is ready for peace the way the Third Reich was: submit, or be destroyed: quietly, and “in peace.”

Festive season in 🇪🇺, 🇺🇸, etc. murder on putin’s mind: all day every day

Dec 27: russia launched roughly 500 drones & 40 missiles at Kyiv, hitting residential areas/ knocking out power & heat.

Saw a flag in the window of neighbouring house today. The emblem was obviously Afghan, but colors I couldn't place. After brief investigation I discovered that it is a Northern Alliance flag. Cool.

Now to take a big sip of black tea with lemon and take a look at Boeing software history.
Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

Team Fortress 2 then. Literally the reason why I created a Steam account.

Command and Conquer 3 now. It's dark atmosphere of dying Earth and great gameplay hold up to this day.

Honorable mentions for CoD4 and Bioshock. Both great games, surpassed by their sequels.
...aaaand we're back! It's the Big One
