a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

This is my wife's hometown. Family friends passed in the flood and many of the spots she frequented growing up are gone. I spent several summers camping in Kerrville. I really don't know what to say or where to start but all I know is that I'm feeling devastated and defeated right now.

COME ON YOU SPURS!
This Tottenham squad will go down as legends. They have accomplished what Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Luka Modric could not.

Son Heung-min might now eclipse Kane as the best player in Spurs’ modern history.

Kane left to win a trophy, Son stayed to prove the doubters wrong.

Incredibly cool that all of my friends are at most like a 15-20 minute walk from me. Live in a walkable neighborhood y'all, it'll change your life. #NewOrleans

A new OECD report confirms that US road safety is an abject failure.

Americans are far more likely to die in a crash than those living in other rich countries. US per capita crash death rates are at least 3x higher than Ireland, Norway, UK, Germany, or Japan.
