"There are two sexes" is basic biology. Yes, yes it is.

"There are also outliers and exceptions" is intermediate biology.

"Sex is a combination of dozens of diverse and variable factors" is advanced biology.

Which illustrates a quick way to tell if someone has read a book since grade school.

If Democrats regain control over anything, the first thing they should do is rename the Palantir data mining contract as THE DONALD J TRUMP NATIONAL GUN OWNERS REGISTRY AND CONFISCATION LIST.

A very scary bill just passed in Ohio for transgender folks. No one but local LGBTQ+ orgs are talking about it.

First, Ohio is only recognizing sex assigned at birth, male or female. You can get in trouble for stating otherwise on documents, I imagine. I may need to change my state ID back. 1/5

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

I'm 46% loving the Trump-Musk bitchfight, and 54% remembering that he's a fame and image obsessed reality TV figure who did guest appearances on pro wrestling.

I give it a 71% chance of being real.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.
It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

First Due Process, and now Republicans are after Birthright Citizenship.

If they pull that off, EVERY Democratic governor, mayor, and police chief needs to start just flat-out rounding up anyone with a Trump flag and deporting them.

Don't care where to. Yemen sounds good. Maybe Burkina Faso.

THE PENTAGON BUDGET JUST HIT A TRILLION DOLLARS.

Not a single pundit from either political party said “how are we going to pay for it?!”

Don’t dare tell us we cannot ALL have healthcare, housing, and education.

People who don't believe in due process should be rounded up and summarily executed.

Yes, it’s a bit hard to see now, but allowing the president to become a king who can kidnap citizens while also demolishing the global financial system is a small price to pay for getting to keeping 23 trans women from playing college sports.

Exactly. These folks need to become way more self-aware, and own it.
On a pretty regular basis over the past month or so, people will tell me “This is not what I voted for.” And when they tell me that, I always respectfully, but firmly, tell them “No, this is EXACTLY what you voted for.”

It’s led to some very interesting conversations.

US Senators from every one of these states—AR, TX, KY, MO, OK, MS, TN—(1) approved Trump/Musk/Doge cuts to NOAA and FEMA, and (2) said Calif would need to change its internal policies before getting federal help for LA fire disaster.

Every one of these US Senators happens to be MAGA/GOP.
Another home swept away in Frankfort, Kentucky.

16 dead in storms across multiple states.

Arkansas, Texas, Missouri & Oklahoma all hit. Mississippi, Tennessee & Kentucky have declared states of emergency.

No word from Trump. But wait for an update on his golf round later…

If seeing a man in a dress is enough to turn a kid gay, but making one straight requires weeks of torturous conversion therapy that's only marginally effective, maybe it's time to reconsider which one is unnatural.

Who could have possibly imagined Republicans doing the thing that they said they would do, and published a massive book detailing exactly how they were planning it all prior to the election while saying that that was their plan for after the election? If only we had known!
I was pretty salty yesterday and am still today. The outrageous bullshit from DOGE and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins is too much. They are waking up a lot of folks that they should have left alone. My latest post dives into it. open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

Each time you choose not to do the right thing, the right thing becomes more difficult, and the next wrong thing becomes more automatic. This is the recent history of America.

We could have easily increased the minimum wage by a dollar a year. Instead we chose not to, again and again 1/

1: That rug really tied the room together.
2: Donnie is out of his element.
3: You do not fuck with The Jesus.

But, that's just like, your opinion, man.

Americans prefer hypothetical individual freedom over actual relevant freedom. We would rather own a car we can't afford to drive than have free public transit to anywhere in the country.
