It’s almost like green energy is the only way forward and a handful of oil barons are doing everything in their power to keep that from happening so they can get even richer at the cost of literally everything else in the world.
Wall Street’s biggest banks made more money financing green projects than they did from working with fossil fuel companies for a fourth straight year, even as they faced ongoing pressure to pull back from the business
Banks Notch Higher Fees From Green Bonds Than Fossil Fuel Debt

In the old days, we would seek comment on stories about climate change from experts in the field who have spent decades studying evidence of the effects of greenhouse gases and findingsolutions. That ends today. Now we'll get your uncle Rooster who you had that big argument with at Thanksgiving.

I don't have any scientific evidence for this, but in my experience from (lots of) door-knocking, people who don't control their dogs properly are much more likely to be right-wing
I don't dislike dogs to be clear. But I really really dislike how many dog owners allow their dogs to foul the streets and to yap at people and scare kids and still expect everyone to think their precious little pooch is such a good dog 14/10 whatever

At no point in my lifetime has the Republican party stood against ANY form of pollution, protected our shared natural resources, or protected our shared environment. Every action has been to free corporate actors from responsibility for their actions.

This is a pre-Trump Republican tradition.

Trump just fucked over rural voters in southeastern Colorado, hard. These are not majority democrats. Our ranch does a tremendous amount of business in SE Colorado and we know a lot of families there, especially around Lamar. Their groundwater is toxic. Trump veto'd safe drinking water for them.

"the crypto landscape continues to evolve rapidly" = "lol we're gonna fleece the plebes as long as governments let us"
A year ago, I was gearing up to track visitors to Trump’s businesses again.

Then it hit: this term’s story on Trump profiting off the presidency would likely center on crypto.

I knew almost nothing about it.

So I watched MasterClass.

"create your own AI >>>> G I R L <<<<"
"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

Sucks for ICE because I’m a ‘create hellfire and brimstone on Earth so the wicked may experience it here, first’ liberal and I think there are more like me, currently, than good governance liberals, at least on one topic.

May Merrick Garland's life be wrought with the kind of pain and trauma these victims experienced, and, in the interest of karma, may whoever is called to aid him, be just as unbothered as he was.
Merrick Garland hid this from us for 4 YEARS,

and allowed this disgusting monster to be reelected

ICE agent recognized out Christmas shopping—throws tantrum when citizens profile him.

"We're trying to prevent you from kidnapping our neighbors," they say.

"I'm not doing anything but walking, leave me alone!" he yells.

"Not right now you're not—but the past 5 days you have."

If so, I wanna take a moment to say how insane it is if the NBA is doing a “tribute to the troops” for someone “deployed” to 14th and K St. NW. Like he just came back from Antietam. If true, it just normalizes Trump’s fascist contention that our cities demand military occupation. Free DC. Always.

Let's count the safety violations.

1. Hands in the "Red Zone"
2. Lack of push stick / push block
3. Cross-cutting (across the grain) using the rip fence as a stop
4. Missing blade guard
5. Not using a riving knife or splitter
6. Long sleeves extending to the wrists
