We haven’t seen many this winter, but a few have dropped by.
Common Redpolls are a small stripey finch that lives in the Arctic. They migrate south, but somewhat erratically, so we don’t see them every winter.
This male redpoll briefly stopped in to check out the foraging situation

Look at this absolute cacophony of a man. The blue skin decorated with vibrant yellow bobbles! The iridescent peacock blues and greens! The intense copper! That tail of pale gray tipped with deep blue and orange!
As described, the oscillated turkey is a big, meaty boy roughly the shape of a North American wild turkey, but this motherfucker came dressed as a peacock: vibrant blue head with tiny round yellow protrusions, blue and green iridescent feathers at the base of the neck and overly the back that transition to gleaming copper. The wing tips are white. The tail is pale gray except that they are tipped in blue and orange.
