Did u know? One of the most wildlife friendly plants in yr garden will be growing right under your nose. It's tough as hell;doesn't come with a price tag,'cos it seeds everywhere for free;is rich in nectar & each seed head makes a great bed - the Dandelion! Don't spray, celebrate. 🌍🌱🌿🪲🕷️🐝🪰🦋

Did u know? One of the questions I get asked most is, after you leave your dead foliage, stems, seed heads over the winter for small souls to take shelter, when do you clear it all away? The answer is when the weather warms up so you can see tiny beings on the wing continuously. 🌿🌱🪲🐙🌍

This shows what can be done in our cities and towns! Please share if you’d like to see more green spaces boosting biodiversity and providing a lifeline for pollinating insects like this fantastic wildflower meadow at @kingscollege.bsky.social at @cambridgeuni.bsky.social. Let’s bring nature back 🐝

The dinkiest of ivies ( some fingers for scale) - Hedera helix 'Dyinni'

I love to use this ivy to cover the soil in planters, also great for softening edges in places where other plants struggle.

Can we have a big shout-out for dandelions? These wildflowers will be back in just a few weeks - offering a vital early food source for all sorts of insects, including bees & butterflies. Please let them grow - this short film (made by our daughter) shows how they can boost biodiversity!

One teaspoon of the neonicotinoids pesticide could kill 1.25 billion bees. And yet the Government could be about to let it back on English fields. Sign the petition: tell Ministers to keep this ban on bee-killing pesticides in place. #bees #gardeners

Can’t wait to try this crunchy and springy malt & seeded sourdough loaf… my 4th loaf since receiving this starter from a friend.
Anyone got any tips on scoring? Not sure my blade is sharp enough.

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

Please consider leaving dead plants in your garden over the winter rather than tidying them up. They will provide sheltered spots for hibernating insects 🐞

We were itching to do something at the plot but it was just too cold and wet yesterday. So we put up shelving in our free shed and put away our very small collection of tools. We were so pleased with ourselves 😄 #allotment #shed

It would be so great if you could RT my Etsy shop in the twoots below/above. My🌲 jewellery orders usually make up a significant part of my income at this time of yr but the X exodus has meant I’ve only received 1 order-pretty scary income-wise. A small boost would help so much. Thankyou🌿
