1/ Insurrectionist Enrique Tarrio is suing the federal government for an Ashli Babbitt-style payoff from Trump. His lawyer, I shit you not, is named "Augustus Sol Invictus."

Turns out that Mr. Invictus may have failed to tell the court about his prior felony...
According to the Court’s records, Lawyer Augustus Sol Invictus is a member of the Middle District bar and The Florida Bar.2 On June 6, 2025, he filed this action. Doc. 1. However, it appears from the publicly available records of the Virginia Judiciary that Mr. Invictus was convicted of a felony on January 8, 2025. See Virginia Judiciary Records available at https://eapps.courts.state.va.us/ocis. So far as the Court can tell, Mr. Invictus has not reported a felony conviction pursuant to Local Rule 2.04(b)(1). But given the records of the Virginia Judiciary, by operation of Local Rule 2.04(b)(2) it appears that Mr. Invictus may currently be suspended from the Middle District bar based on that conviction. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that, on or before June 26, 2025, Augustus Sol Invictus must show cause in writing why he has not violated Local Rule 2.04(b)(1) and why he is not currently suspended from the Middle District bar by operation of Local Rule 2.04(b)(2). ORDERED in Orlando, Florida on June 12, 2025.

Between this and the proposal by Goebbels 2.0 to suspend habeas corpus, it's feeling like we're cooked. This is a course in which there is no other option than intensification. And don't be fooled - Noem having overspent the budget is no real barrier. They will find the money.

I first interviewed Alan Moore in 2009, and one of the things he said then has reverberated in my head louder and louder over the last ten years. He was reading the entrails of the 20th century long before the shit hit the fan.
“As our information increases so does our complexity”, he says, “And once it passes this tipping point then you don’t get one super-computer ruling the world, you just get chaos. Eventually you’ll find a lot of systems shaking themselves to pieces because they’re not flexible enough to deal with this level of turbulence. It’s already leading us to reconsider the way we organise our markets, our philosophies, our politics. The ideas that have got us through the 19th and 20th centuries are completely outdated.”
