Pierre Poilievre is fumbling his party leadership in a spectacular way.

John Tory resigned amid scandals, corruption, and incompetence.

They're both still polling at 33%. Is that the guaranteed baseline for every conservative politician in Canada? 1 in 3 Canadians will vote for you no matter what?

Over $1.1 million in public funds to fight unionization (the university lost, btw ✊).

"Although the university has its own legal counsel and is in the midst of a $45-million budget cut for fiscal year 2025-2026, it pays a premium to outside lawyers who specialize in fighting unions."

Union organizers at the university say this is part of a broader trend towards corporatization of the public institution.

Bike lanes are well used, their value is backed by numerous studies, and they're cheap compared to other infrastructure projects

But conservatives are fixated on them because their removal curries political favour (and distracts from the fact they're not actually interested in improving the city).

If your entire research methodology is to uncritically feed data into AI and let it think for you, I fundamentally don't understand your value as a researcher.
They asked for a consultation on AI and then replaced the results of the consultation with an AI output and from this it looks as if my input that they should not use AI was somehow not part of the AI output
Canada did a consultation on a new national AI strategy, formed an expert task force to write 32 reports, then used AI to analyze the responses & reports. The result is a summary that strings together 100s of vague action items & flattens nuance and policy trade-offs into false consensus
