Tech is always about people.
The job of engineers is not to deploy some technology but to build robust, reliable and sustainable (in all meanings of that word) solutions for real world problems based on requirements directly derived from people's needs. Even for an engineer technology comes second at best.

Good rundown and update on #TeslaTakedown. Tesla = "the exhaust port on the Death Star."
New video now live: #TeslaTakedown: Year Two

A year ago, as #TeslaTakedown was just getting started, I made a video outlining what the movement might accomplish, and why it was worth fighting for. This is my one-year update.

Huge shout to everyone out there making it happen!

AI can finally comb through and summarize key points of the Heritage Foundation's 920-page Project 2025 document. I've been querying it on mentions of transgender issues, mass deportation, and more. This was published in 2023. No politician can claim ignorance. First they said it, then they did it.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Pretty damning indictment of the Minneapolis Police Department. But this seems like police departments everywhere; in so many ways in so many places they send the message that they are not our friends.

“Why won’t you even just look at us?”
This is testimony…

📌 Stella Carlson, “Pink coat lady”, speaks on the murder of Alex Pretti.

“After the shooting, they (ICE) decided to just scatter and save themselves.”

General strike coming up in Minnesota.

“This action comes out of the need to figure out what we can meaningfully do to stop it,” said Knutson. “The government in the state of Minnesota has not offered any path towards stopping these attacks, this violence.”

When politics decide who gets rights, safety, healthcare, and dignity, “I don’t do politics” stops being neutral. It becomes a choice.

If you can afford not to care about politics, it means the system hasn’t come for you yet.

Well said.

"Consider all the cowards who surrendered to the authoritarian attempt last year because they have beach house mortgages to think about....

Commentary from Reformer editor J. Patrick Coolican:

This is not a moment for "diplomacy."

It’s actually a moment for confrontation, both loud and quiet. And, for saying: No more. Take the mask off. Honor the Constitution. Better yet, leave.

Reporters at the Star Tribune were able to ID Renee Good’s shooter after the DHS secretary publicly provided enough information to track down his name. The regime’s own stupidity will do it in. Also, great reporting. www.startribune.com/ice-agent-wh...

Yet another reason to avoid my formerly favorite big box store. And it's not just Black folks who have ditched Target. It's everyone who cares about integrity and fair treatment (of employees, suppliers, customers).

The Minneapolis-based retailer isn’t suffering lower sales because its employees are rude but because it disrespected a significant portion of its customer base.

Yes. More is needed. Much more. The article suggests boycotts and mass protests that don't just happen on sunny weekend afternoons.

Good reporting from @npr.org on AI-generated "workslop."

"People are using AI regardless of whether it's needed, which sometimes results in more work for their colleagues."

AI can, indeed, do some things well, but you also need to check absolutely everything it does, which adds time to projects.

What to know what you can do? This. Peaceful observation and recording and reporting. Extra credit for protest that gums up the works, not just the permitted, unobtrusive kind. Also the backend, out of the spotlight, admin behind all that.
They just tear-gassed us. They tried to run us over in a van holding a peaceful protester. They shot us with pepper balls. They dragged another protester into the facility.
moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot.
