We continue to have anti-science, anti-public health leaders in charge of Department of Health and Human Services. This is why we need to empower state public health officials to fill the void.

My bill in NY would give to empower NY Health Department to make vaccine recommendations.
Breaking News: Rejecting decades of science, the chair of the federal panel that recommends vaccines for Americans said that shots against polio and measles — and perhaps all diseases — should be optional. The vaccines are credited with preventing disability and millions of deaths worldwide.
Vaccine Panel Chair Says Polio and Other Shots Should Be Optional, Rejecting Decades of Science
Dr. Kirk Milhoan, a pediatric cardiologist who leads the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, said a person’s right to refuse a vaccine outweighed concerns about illness or death from infectious diseases.

ICE agents cannot enter your home without a judicial warrant. This memo is unconstitutional and wrong.

DHS is training ICE agents to act with impunity, to be as violent and cruel as they want, and to ignore the rule of law.
January 22, 2026 at 7:15 PM
Under no circumstances should Democrats support a bill that gives MORE money to ICE and DHS.

ICE agents are terrorizing communities across the country and killing our neighbors. They cannot be handed yet another blank check with no accountability.
NEW: Congress releases massive funding bill ahead of shutdown deadline as ICE clash looms

Top Dem appropriators signed off on the 1,000+ page bill.

But it does NOT contain ICE restraints that many Democrats call essential to win their votes. Some are firm NOs.

Congress releases massive funding bill ahead of shutdown deadline as ICE clash looms
The legislation funds key agencies before a Jan. 30 deadline to avert a shutdown, but it excludes the restraints on ICE that many Democrats have said are essential for their votes.

This is exactly how we can fight fire with fire.

If Donald Trump and his Republican allies are going to steal Congressional seats in red states, Democrats need to fight back.
January 16, 2026 at 7:32 PM
We have a thugocracy in America right now, and ICE is its armed force. I spoke with the Times about why it needs to be abolished.
January 15, 2026 at 7:34 PM
Every day, ICE is terrorizing our communities & violating our civil rights. We must be able to hold them accountable.

I'm glad to see my bill being taken up by @governor.ny.gov which will give New Yorkers the right to sue ICE agents in state court when they violate our rights.
January 14, 2026 at 1:31 PM
I'm encouraged that @governor.ny.gov included my legislation to protect our immigrant neighbors at sensitive locations in today's State of the State.

New York should be doing everything we can to fight back, and this is an important way to do that.

Molotov cocktails in Boulder.

An attempt on the life of PA’s Jewish governor.
The Bondi Beach massacre.
The burning of Beth Israel.

Antisemitism — and the violence that’s always come with it — is on the march. Do not look away.

Thank you, @newyorkstateag.bsky.social, for fighting back and winning, time and again.
We won a court order protecting over $10 billion in funding for critical social services as we continue our lawsuit.

From childcare to shelter services for survivors of domestic violence, I’ll keep fighting to protect New York from losing funding and essential services.

Healthcare is a human right. Let's make sure every American can afford it.

In just one week, the Trump admin illegally attacked Venezuela, killed a woman in cold blood in Minneapolis, and lied about all of it.

House Democrats need a roadmap to bring accountability to this fascist, lawless regime. Here's Part II of mine.

This is great for New York.

I was proud to work with
@governor.ny.gov to more than double eligibility for the state's childcare program.

Now New York will take it to the next level and set out on a path to universal coverage. Excited to support this in Albany.
January 8, 2026 at 5:17 PM
An ICE officer shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis today. And then the Trump Administration lied about it.

It is now clear that calling Trump's immigration policies cruel is an understatement — they are murderous and reckless.

Five years ago, an angry and violent mob of Trump supporters, encouraged by Trump himself, stormed the Capitol.

Trump is shutting down child care funding for blue states.

New York State and City should immediately stop sending money to Washington. There’s ~$10 billion annually that could be withheld.

It would be an unprecedented move — but everything that is happening is unprecedented.

Our out-of-control president is now recklessly threatening several more countries after his attack on Venezuela this weekend.

This is not normal behavior. Trump’s comments are a serious threat to American credibility, influence, and security.
Trump in a single gaggle on Air Force One just threatened:

-- a second strike against Venezuela
-- Cuba
-- Mexico
-- Colombia
-- Iran
-- Greenland (which in turn would be an attack on the EU and Denmark)

1 year in and congestion pricing is a massive success. Fewer cars on the streets, way faster commutes, and more money for public transportation.

It’s proof positive that good, smart policy actually can make our lives better — and a huge win for New Yorkers.

Trump acted in flagrant violation of the law by launching a “large-scale strike” on Venezuela. At best, Trump has set a dangerous new precedent with no limiting principles. At worst, he is walking us unapologetically into what may be another forever war.

The FAIR Business Practices Act expands NY's consumer protection laws for the first time in 45 years. The AG now has the power to go after businesses for unfair and abusive practices.

Trump is turning the lights off at the CFPB. We're fighting back to protect New Yorkers.

@nynurses.bsky.social deserve a fair contract that guarantees safe staffing and better patient care. I stand with them in their fight for fairness and dignity.

This is for our nurses, patients, and the entire NYC community. #SafeStaffingSavesLives
NYSNA New York City private sector nurses announced that they voted overwhelming – 97% – to authorize a strike!

Nurses don't want to strike but are willing to do whatever it takes to win fair contracts.

Donald Trump is working to overturn the federal Fair Housing Act of 1968, but New York will not sit back and give up civil rights.

Our law enshrines the disparate impact standard and protects New Yorkers from housing discrimination, no matter what happens in Washington.
