What would it look like for Democrats in Congress to fight back more effectively? I outlined five specific strategies in @NYDNOpinions this morning. Even more details coming shortly! www.nydailynews.com/2025/11/17/a...

Great to be with activists in Chelsea and on the Upper West Side as part of this Day of Action to say to ICE and the Trump regime: Hands Off NYC!
November 15, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Excited to speak with tenant activists about our new legislation to enable stronger enforcement action against tenant harassment at the NYS Tenants and Neighbors Coalition annual meeting!

Why helping Republicans end the shutdown — right now, and for nothing — is a terrible idea.

If Trump continues to violate court orders on SNAP, we should withhold payment of money owed to the federal government. My bill, the RECOURSE Act, would establish a process for New York to do this, but state and city officials could act without it, and they should.

Always great to cast a ballot along with one of my future voters. Get out there today and use your power, New Yorkers!

Fun this week greeting voters at the PATH station with @bradhoylmansigal.bsky.social to tell them about @mikiesherrill for New Jersey Governor. Only 3 more days until Election Day!

Proud to see my legislation with to Trump-proof New York when it comes to housing discrimination included in the @nytimes.com wrap-up of the legislative session: www.nytimes.com/2025/06/19/n...

Proud to pass legislation this evening to fix New York State tax law for renewable energy systems, so much-needed solar and wind projects can move forward.
June 17, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Today, I was incredibly proud to pass legislation that will enshrine all the protections of the federal Fair Housing Act in State law. It’s a critical step to Trump-proof New York and ensure equal access to housing for New Yorkers, no matter what happens in Washington.

Moving remarks on the Assembly floor on the long struggle for equality — and present-day efforts to erase LGBTQ Americans and history — by @deborahjglick.bsky.social, one of my first role models in public service.
June 4, 2025 at 8:55 PM
You love to see it.
June 4, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Great to be with solar advocates from across the state in Albany today to lobby for bills to speed our energy transition, including my bill to ensure reliable and viable tax rates for wind and solar projects. Common sense — but more controversial than you’d think!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
(Laurence Binyon)

Glad to spend the morning reflecting and remembering with our West Side community.

This morning’s @politico.com playbook reports on my effort with @bradhoylmansigal.bsky.social to fight back against the Trump Administration’s coercion of major law firms. www.politico.com/newsletters/...

Here’s the full letter we sent to the Department of Financial Services, sounding the alarm on Musk and X.

I’m intro’ing the GRIFT Act with @sengianaris.bsky.social to supercharge @newyorkstateag.bsky.social and #NYDFS to go after financial fraud. As @timesunion.com reports, NY can act where Trump’s SEC won’t — particularly if the call is coming from inside the house. www.timesunion.com/capitol/arti...

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have already done untold damage to the federal government, and they have New York in their crosshairs. That’s why @jessicaramosqns.bsky.social and I are introducing bills to fight back.

My statement on the Trump Administration's cancellation of research grants to Columbia University:
March 9, 2025 at 6:03 PM
The Trump deportations are a threat to our humanity. They are also a threat to the future of New York City — a place that has always depended on newcomers for growth and prosperity. I was proud to stand up and speak out today with colleagues and activists.
February 9, 2025 at 7:43 PM
It was a privilege to announce our fair housing legislation together this morning with Rev. Sharpton. Working together with AM Wright, Sen. Kavanagh, and our great colleagues, we aim to Trump-proof the Fair Housing Act in New York by enshrining the “disparate impact” standard in State law.
February 1, 2025 at 5:29 PM
I spoke at today’s budget hearing about the importance of the Climate Change Superfund Act – pushing back on right-wing fear-mongering to set the record straight that holding big polluters accountable won’t diminish New York’s economic competitiveness.

This guide was sent to families at my son’s school today.

I am grateful to @nycschools.bsky.social and @nycimmigrants.bsky.social for doing all that they can.

It is absolutely heartbreaking that we are at this point.

It was my great privilege last night to introduce Attorney General @ericholder.bsky.social (Stuyvesant HS ‘69!) at the re-election kickoff for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. District Attorney Bragg is as fine a public servant as there is.
