There’s a large part of the creative process that involves hours or days of experimentation. Unfortunately, when experimentation leads nowhere, it feels like you wasted a lot of time. The hard part is reminding yourself that you learned what DIDN’T work, and that’s very important.

I saw a kid today walking out of the store, all giggly & overjoyed, holding in one hand Thor action figure and a rubber snake in the other and I immediately thought about this one scene from Thor Ragnarok.
It made me grin like a maniac in the middle of a street and this was a highlight of my day ❤️

The Flanderization of ghibli in the public mind is just so insane to me. Acting like it’s entirely wholesome and cutesy but is really overtly anti capitalist, depict the horrors of war and environmental decline, and have TONS of body horror and depictions of death and disease. it legit annoys me
