So I know I'm shits and giggles over here sometimes, but I'm sad that I spent the last 4 years trying to tell folks about Christian Nationalism and the crazy ass shit these folks believe. I tried.

When the Nazis took power and gutted the Weimar era civil service in government, they also claimed the need to increase efficiency and to ensure loyalty to the nazi party. They did it through the law for the restoration of the professional civil service.

Under fascism, no one is safe.

Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc.

Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations.

Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

Y'all there's been so much going on that I didn't even hear about this until one of my friends got home from work upset about it.

Forget censorship, they're going full turkey on a complete resegregation of science and academia.
Just in case you thought that removing DEI criteria would mean that everyone is competing equally: NIH is removing grad students from underrepresented backgrounds from the applicant pool altogether. Their applications will not be considered. Other students, not from these backgrounds, will be.

If anyone claims that the current anti-trans panic was caused in any part by trans people advocating for our human rights, that person is lying through their teeth.

The religious right lost on marriage equality, and immediately started going after trans people instead. That's what happened.
